« A burst of light that crosses space like an expanding breath.»
Hors-Sol is a seven-meter-long immersive installation, designed in situ during a residency at MusVerre.
The architecture of the space—twelve meters plunged into darkness—shaped the piece and guided its design: a projection, a thrust, a breath passing through the space from one end to the other.
The challenge was to make this momentum perceptible by varying the formal writing and playing with the tensions of gravity.
Above the structure, two video projectors broadcast images onto polished glass slices integrated into the surface.
These projections—fluids, anatomical fragments, internal movements—emphasize the organic nature of the work and the impression of metabolism in action.
The viewer is invited to enter into this breathing.
Their gaze—and their body—oscillate between moving closer to grasp the details and moving away to take in the whole.
This induced wandering becomes a shared movement: a thrust in the making that each person prolongs, propagates, and activates.
